You Bring What’s Inside, Out

Somewhere along the line you opted to say yes to that voice within instead of taking the supposedly safe route of what other people thought you should do. How do I know? Because if you hadn’t, you wouldn’t be building a business. You wouldn’t be taking the risk to share your gifts with the world. You wouldn’t be putting in the work to create a positive change.

In a world that trains us to live from the outside-in—forcing ourselves into the existing structures and trimming ourselves to fit—you dare to operate from the inside-out instead. You are showing up with what is yours to give and building a new structure (aka your business) around that. Thank you. Your clients, customers, and the rest of us benefit from your courage and positive change it set in motion.

But When It Comes To Marketing, It’s Hard To Be Yourself

Marketing is where it gets a little tricky, though. You’re good at doing what you do, but when it comes to selling it, putting yourself out there, and getting people on board, it starts to feel like the old “supposed to’s” of being salesy, forcing yourself into pre-existing structures, and trimming yourself to fit.

Every marketing guru on the internet tells you how you’re supposed to do marketing (countless different ways!), your own inner critic tells you that you’re not doing it right, and the numbers tell you that what you are doing isn’t enough. You need more visitors, more opens, more clients, more conversions, more sales…

We Get Tempted By “Supposed To’s” Too

In the midst of all the input, it’s easy to revert to that familiar outside-in approach. We started doing it when we launched The Paradigm Shift Project website nine weeks ago. Since then we’ve showed up on Instagram every day and in your inbox every week with tons of great tips to help you grow your business. Exactly what we’re all “supposed” to do, right?

Then last week happened. Through a couple of excellent team meetings, underscored by the insight-inducing reset of my Monthly Sabbatical (aka menstruation), together Michael and I realized that the content we share with you needs to go deeper. It needs to not only be valuable information, but also be more fully us. It needs to come from the heart. (Hey, sometimes it takes a while to apply your expertise to yourself, right? :))

Great Marketing Is A Heart-to-Heart Conversation

When it comes to marketing, the most effective message is a story—and the most powerful stories come from the heart. As it turns out, what actually works in the marketplace amounts to being clear and compassionate.

Which is great news for paradigm-shifting entrepreneurs. Because even in your marketing, you get to operate from the inside-out. You don’t have to smoosh yourself into a box of “shoulds” and trim yourself to fit in order to grow your business. In fact, great marketing is all about listening deeply and communicating clearly. It’s about having a clear, consistent message. It’s about being in a heart-to-heart conversation with your people.

It’s Important To Find Your Voice
